A Private Adult Rehabilitation Facility
This forty-unit facility caters to men and women recovering from drug or alcohol addiction. In 2004, increasing resident call volumes were overwhelming its outdated business phones. NetworkX created a customized integrated phone system that provided private phone numbers to each of the forty units, improved the facility’s control of costs and usage, and promised all the growth capacity this thriving concern would demand. Since then, NetworkX has re-cabled the facility’s data network, incorporated a call center designed as part of a new corporate office, and networked the two locations together to assure seamless data transfer. NetworkX is currently adding WiFi for the residents and closed-circuit video monitoring for security and safety.
A Waste Management Company
This family-owned, family-operated firm specializes in the removal of construction waste. Recently, it was expanding into new offices while retaining its previous location as a maintenance facility, and hired NetworkX to design its telecommunications network. NetworkX equipped the new office with a structured cabling environment, maximizing the flexibility of the space by allowing the customer to relocate desks with ease, and established local and long-distance phone service. Working closely with the data equipment manager, NetworkX provided a complete equipment racking system to house the new phone system, all servers, and the digital video recorder (DVR) already in use. NetworkX also installed flat panel video monitors for the dispatch center and conference room. Now, images sent from camera to DVR over ordinary phone lines connect the two locations of this growing enterprise for optimal operational efficiency.
A Multiple Building Campus
This private school occupies four large independent buildings, some as far as nine hundred feet apart. Attempting to operate its centralized network over voice-grade lines was resulting in daily errors and ongoing data issues. NetworkX designed a fiber optics solution that provided decentralized interfaces in each building. NetworkX re-cabled the communications center for data and created a new server room outfitted with a complete equipment racking system. NetworkX now provides server management support, support for the existing Nortel phone system, and even accounts management and oversight for local and long distance phone service. NetworkX also acts as liaison for alarm system issues with other vendors. NetoworkX is now consulting with this busy organization about plans for a digital video recorder (DVR) camera system and flat panel video monitors in the classrooms.
Keith McKay, President
Hailing from a small farming community in Michigan, Keith McKay always had a knack for electronics -- one of those kids who took first place in the science fair and wired sound for the movie theatre that gave him his first job. Even as an insurance adjuster for a large national carrier, he distinguished himself in the field of telecommunications, establishing a complex disaster-response phone system within hours of Hurricane Andrew. Today, with twenty-four years experience in the business of user-end electronics, he offers a scope of expertise rarely found in the ever-changing world of technology. His credentials extend from emergency management and data protection to onsite security and closed-circuit video monitoring. Since founding NetworkX’s parent company, Electronics Etc., Inc., in April 1997, McKay has strived to foster long-term associations with the company’s clients, believing strong ongoing relationships facilitate his ability to better serve his customers.
Stephen Cox, Vice President
Stephen Cox began his engineering career as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. Since retiring from service in 1990, he has worked on Wall Street where he wrote programs to safeguard transaction data for the financial markets and where he was recognized as a leader in disaster recovery contingency management. At the beginning of the digital boom, he conducted research into the impact of electronic trading on global markets, publishing conclusions that today seem prescient. In South Florida, Cox furthered his market sector experience directing the information technologies department of a high-end real estate brokerage firm for two years. He comes to NetworkX with a sophisticated understanding of competitive technology strategies rarely available to small businesses.
